Umpqua Wildlife Rescue received a call about a Duck at the Duck Pond that has a big ball of fishing line wrapped around one of its legs. It was relayed on to Abraham and I so we went over a few times to try and capture it. We got really close but it got spooked both times and went out to the water. We tried a big net but that's not going to work as all the birds there scatter the moment it gets brought out haha. Anyway, we will try again tomorrow. It's going to take food to lure it in and then toss a blanket over it and put it into an animal crate. It needs to be freed from the line soon or it will likely lose that leg. If anyone has experience catching ducks and you have an opportunity to grab this one, please do and let me know and we'll get it to the rehabber. 🤙
