76 People Under Monitoring in Oregon for the Coronavirus

3:22 AM · Feb 25, 2020

Oregon Health Authority has changed course and decided to start sharing data about how many people they are monitoring for the Coronavirus. They will release information once a week, each Tuesday. It doesn't appear the location of those being monitored is going to be released, which begs the question how helpful the information will be. A total of 2 people have been tested and both test came up negative. Only visitors of China are being monitored at this point. So those who visit countries with significant outbreaks such as Japan, South Korea, Iran and Italy are not being monitored. Also those being monitored are being requested to stay home and avoid crowds for 14 days. Its a request, not a requirement. It's unclear how effective these measures will based upon the fact that many of those with the Coronavirus do not show symptoms right away.
