Roseburg has a new golf destination that promises to help golfers improve their skills year-round. Cattle Dogs Golf Center, founded by Michael Morin and Desirae Cleary, is an indoor golf facility that caters to the needs of the local community. Michael Morin, a Douglas County native, discovered his passion for golf while deployed in Rota, Spain. Upon returning home, he found a group of friends who shared his love for the game but realized there was a talent gap that made it challenging to fully enjoy tournaments and leagues together. With limited resources available to improve his golf skills, Michael understood that he wasn't alone in this frustration. Recognizing the need for an indoor golf facility in Roseburg, a blue-collar town where most people work 9-5 and face challenges with cold, wet, and dark conditions during the winter months, Michael and Desirae developed a business plan that led to the creation of Cattle Dogs Golf Center. The facility currently offers three separate simulators, each with access to 120 golf courses, a driving range, pitching and chipping ranges, and a putting green. A fourth simulator will specialize in shot analysis for those interested in perfecting their golf swings. Lessons and club fitting will also be available with a local Stewart Park golf pro. In the future, Cattle Dogs Golf Center plans to expand its offerings with an outdoor 9-hole putting green and an outdoor dining area for the summer months. The center operates six days a week, with hours varying from 10am to 10pm on Tuesday through Thursday, 10am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 8pm on Sunday. Rates are based on peak and non-peak hours, with non-peak hours (10am-4pm) priced at $25/hr, peak hours (4pm-10pm) at $30/hr, and Friday-Sunday at $35/hr. Rates are per golf bay, not per person, and golfers typically complete one round of golf in one hour. Customers can bring their own clubs or use the ones provided by the facility.
